Committed to nurturing talent, the Club funded the establishment of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), as well as more recently its Institute for Advanced Study. Since the university was conceived, the Club has donated more than HK$2.5 billion.

The Club's donations have covered the construction of HKUST's campus, the launch of scholarship schemes and educational and research projects. Opened in 2013, the Club-funded Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (JCIAS) is the first and only facility in the city to champion collaborative projects across disciplines. JCIAS Director Professor Henry Tye is committed to bringing together brilliant minds from around the world to propel scientific innovation and research in Hong Kong to the next level.
