The Jockey Club Life Learning Fund has enabled more than 1.5 million primary and secondary school students to participate in a wide range of life-wide learning activities outside the classroom, thereby widening their horizons and building their self-confidence and interpersonal skills. The Fund was initially set up in 2002 with a donation of HK$141 million to the Education Bureau from the Club. In response to its overwhelming success, the Club made further donations of $260 million in 2007 and HK$240 million in 2012 to extend the scheme until 2015. It is expected to benefit over 200,000 financially needy students a year from some 950 participating schools.
