 Arts, Culture & Heritage

The Club actively promoted and supported creativity and the arts in Hong Kong

  • donated funds to establish Hong Kong’s first Academy of Performing Arts

  • contributed to the enhancement of Hong Kong Arts Centre

  • funded multiple major arts festivals and exhibitions every year so that the people of Hong Kong could enjoy and appreciate artistic performances from around the world, including Hong Kong Arts Festival, Le French May Arts Festival, PICASSO - Masterpieces from Musee National Picasso Paris, and Hong Kong Jockey Club Series

The Club also attended to cultural and heritage preservation

  • contributed funds to the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, the Tai O Traditional Dragon Boat Water Parade and the Hungry Ghost Festival, all of which are local traditions included in the national list of intangible cultural heritage

  • heritage conservation and adaptive re-use projects included: the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre in Shek Kip Mei, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Former Explosives Magazine in Admiralty and the Central Police Station Complex
