A Responsible Employer

Operating under a not-for-profit business model, The Hong Kong Jockey Club not only benefits the community through hundreds of charitable donations each year, but also contributes to the local job market both directly and indirectly.

  • The Hong Kong Jockey Club College is Hong Kong’s first non-educational institution with QF accredited programmes (up to level 4) offered to all employees.

The Club is one of Hong Kong’s largest employers with about 24,800 full-time and part-time staff. It attaches great importance to developing its employees, as their skills and dedication are essential to sustaining the Club’s significant economic contributions to Hong Kong. The Club is also of the view that through developing its human resources, including part-time employees, it can contribute to enhancing the overall quality of the local workforce.

Underlining this commitment was the establishment of the Hong Kong Jockey Club College (HKJCC) in 2012 to provide training programmes and support to Club staff in accordance with its holistic people development strategy. Three years on, the HKJCC has not only become the first non-educational institution with QF accredited programmes (up to level 4) offered to all employees of the Club, but it has also launched a whole host of other customised programmes targeted to the specific business needs of the Club.

Apart from providing full-time and part-time job opportunities for people from all walks of life, the Club also indirectly helps to sustain stable employment for thousands more Hong Kong people, for example: restaurant owners, food suppliers, transport operators and people who work in the publishing industry.
